What this page does
Grooming frequency turns the breed’s coat score into a week interval: 4, 6, or 10.
One hundred and twenty breeds are stored with typical kilogram, centimetre, and year spans, plus shedding, exercise, grooming, and a space tag. Forty popular names also have a guide. The guide repeats the age, water, and food formulas with that breed’s size filled in. It does not replace the home age page.
Worked example: a Poodle, groom score 5, is shown every 4 weeks. A short coat closer to 1 is closer to 10 weeks. Your clipper schedule can differ.
How the estimate works
Press Calculate to compare the rows you picked. The list has 120 names so a less common dog is still selectable. Only forty guides exist, on purpose, so this comparison page is not competing with forty thin “breed calculator” copies.
“Typical” means the middle of many dogs, not a standard your dog must meet.
A mixed dog is not on the list. Use the mixed-size tool for a parent-size span.
Limits
Food needs by breed use the middle of the weight span and factor 1.6. Weigh the dog and use the calorie page for a bowl.
A guide states the typical range and then offers the age, water, calorie, and exercise forms with that breed already chosen. The formulas are the ones documented on the general tools.
Why is my dog outside the range?
Questions
Because a range is not a fence. The chart is there so two breeds can be compared, not so a dog can pass or fail.
