What this page does
Growth tools estimate adult size from a puppy weight and a size chart. They are not a growth certificate.
Adult weight is current kilograms divided by the share of adult size at that month. The share comes from a small table for small, medium, large, and giant dogs. Below a 12 percent share the page refuses the estimate. Height uses the same share and must be read as rough.
Worked example: a medium puppy at 12 kg and 6 months is about 60 percent of adult weight on this chart, so the adult estimate is 20 kg.
How the estimate works
Press Calculate to reveal the adult estimate. Choosing a breed sets the size bucket. It does not replace the puppy’s real weight. The 12 kg medium example is the default, not a target for every breed.
The chart assumes a steady climb toward the adult weight. Illness, a very large litter, or a mixed size can leave the line.
Do not treat the adult number as a goal to feed toward. The food pages are a separate estimate.
Limits
Very young puppies stay on the “too young” message on purpose.
A giant puppy at the same weight and month produces a higher adult estimate because less of the adult size is in place. That is why the breed list matters on these pages and why forty guides do not each invent a new growth formula.
Why can two puppies of the same weight get different adult estimates?
Questions
The month and the size bucket change the share. Six months medium is about 60 percent. Six months for a giant is a smaller share, so the adult estimate is higher.
