What this page does
This is the Yorkshire Terrier guide. It is not a second Dog Age Calculator. The general age page stays on the home URL and still asks you to pick a size. Here the size is already the small row for this name, and the other sections use the same formulas as the water, calorie, and exercise tools.
Toy weight. A 2 kg dog and an 18 kg dog cannot share a calorie result, which is why the breed row exists.
On this list a Yorkshire Terrier is typically 2–3 kg and 18–23 cm, with a life span of about 13–16 years. Shedding is 1 of 5, exercise 3 of 5, grooming 5 of 5, and the space tag is apartment. Those are typical ranges, not a certificate and not your dog’s measurements.
How the estimate works
Age example, pressed out of the same chart as the home tool: 5 dog years on the small line. Year one counts as 15 human years and year two ends at 24. Each later year adds 4, so 5 dog years are about 36 human years. If the home page shows 39, that is the medium line. Use that number only when this breed’s row is medium.
Senior, on this chart, starts at 11 dog years for a small dog. The life span above is a different fact: it is how long dogs of this name often live, not the year the chart starts calling them senior.
Water example: the middle of the weight row is 2.5 kg. At 50–60 ml per kilogram that is about 125–150 ml a day. A Yorkshire Terrier at the light end of the row drinks less than one at the heavy end. Type the real weight before you trust the section below.
Limits
Food example, neutered adult, factor 1.6: resting energy for 2.5 kg is about 139 kcal (70 × kg^0.75). Times 1.6 is about 223 kcal a day. A bag at 360 kcal per 100 g is about 61.9 g. Your bag’s number replaces 360. This is not a prescription.
Exercise sketch for a small adult is about 30 minutes, the same starting point as the exercise tool, before puppy or senior scaling. Grooming frequency on the breed row is about every 4 weeks. Neither number is a training plan or a salon booking.
The dropdown on the general tools lists 120 names. Only these 40 guides exist, because a separate URL for every breed plus every calculator would repeat the same sum. Pick this breed on a general tool if you want the full form. Press Calculate there too. Nothing is stored.
Questions
An individual Yorkshire Terrier can sit outside every range on this page and still be a healthy dog, or an unwell one. The page cannot see the dog. Short-nosed breeds, giants, and puppies are the cases where a chart is the wrong place to decide a walk, a diet, or a dose.
Why is there no “Yorkshire Terrier age calculator” at its own address? People search that phrase, and this guide answers it in the age section, with the small line already chosen. A cloned page with only the name changed would compete with the home calculator and with the other 39 guides.
What should you change first? The weight, if you know it. The middle of the range is a stand-in. The birth date is the other one that moves the age section. Breed, size, and the written examples stay visible without pressing Calculate. The result panel does not.
